Auxiliary

AL Auxiliary color EmblemThe World’s Largest Women’s Patriotic Service Organization
For nearly a century, The American Legion Auxiliary has been serving Veterans by providing support to our Veterans, our military and their families.

The Auxiliary is comprised of the women whose husbands, fathers, sons, uncles, brothers and grandfathers served. Some are married to members of Post 97 and they meet at the same time and place as Post 97.  However having a spouse or other family member in Post 97 is not a prerequisite to join the Auxiliary.

Auxiliary Unit 97 supports the programs and activities of the post as well as conducting programs of their own which includes:

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 97 Programs

  • Poppy Program
  • Girls State
  • Poppy Court
  • Outreach Programs
  • Scholarships
  • Junior Memberships

aux_installationIf you are a volunteer already and would like to have those hours count in the U.S. Congress toward the American Legion’s support of Veteran’s issues we would love to include those hours on our monthly Service Report.

Our dues are only $25 per year.

We are looking forward to a creating a cookbook fundraiser as well as helping the Post with the CRUISE-IN FOR VETS CAR SHOW, hosted by American Legion Post 97 each March. The kids at the HOOKED ON KIDS FISHING DERBY enjoy our cookies every April.

We meet at 7 pm on the 2nd Monday when American Legion Post 97 meets at the CAC campus on Bella Vista.

We would like to thank Supervisor Cheryl Chase for her support of our programs and Jim Green for all he does to facilitate what we do.
